When it comes to summer weather in Los Angeles, the saying goes, “May gray, June gloom, July Fry.” And let me tell you.. truer words have never been said. I currently have the AC on full blast and an iced coffee in hand. Anyone who has lived in a hot climate can tell you the key to success when it comes to summer dressing is loose tops and dresses. Enter: the peasant top. The peasant top is the cute and comfy alternative to your favorite teeshirt. After graduation I quickly came to the realization that once you are handed a diploma people expect you to look presentable most of the time. (WTF!? As if passing a few classes prepares you for a life of looking like you have your shit together!) That being said, I had no choice but to find tops and sweaters as comfy as my hoodies and middle school club soccer t-shirts. My theory was that without comfy alternatives I was destined for a life of frumptitude. (Def not a real thing, but just go with it.) Of all the comfy tops I own, this one from Lush Clothing might just be my favorite. Every girl needs a few neutral, comfy and versatile tops in their arsenal. Also, it goes with almost everything. As my clean clothes diminish and my hamper fills, I know I can count on a faithful peasant top.
